Site Rules and Code of Conduct for iCorkboard Online Community

Find below the rules and code of Conduct for our site. Ignorance of these rules is no excuse for breaking them. Continued violations of the rules may result in a ban or reduction of site permissions if it's chronic enough.

    LAST MODIFIED: 03/12/2020

    Summary of Changes:

    • Changed the Word "MyPortals" to "iCorkboard"
    • Made the key points of the rules have a different style to make them stand out for users who prefer to skim rather than read in detail the policies.
    • Squashed several spelling and grammar bugs.

    1. SPEAK ENGLISH: While this is an international site with visitors from around the world, we don't have the staff power to moderate and apply rules appropriately for content written in any other language other than English. It doesn't need to be perfect, but it needs to be English.
    2. BE ORIGINAL: If it wasn't your original solution, code, idea, graphic, etc; give proper credit where it is due. See the DMCA Compliance Page for More Information.
    3. ONE ACCOUNT, PER PERSON, PER LIFETIME: Please note that it is site policy to allow one account per given email address to avoid spam and abuse. If you have a special reason for multiple accounts, please PM staff and we'll work with you on a case-by-case basis.
    4. NO USERS UNDER 13 AND THAT IS FINAL: Due to a U.S.federal law called the Children's Online Privacy Protection act of 1998 (COPPA), we cannot process registrations from users under the age of 13 without a bunch of paperwork that we don't have the human power or hologram power to process.
    5. RESPECT GENDER IDENTITY PREFERENCE: Calling a user by the wrong gender pronouns is seen as disrespectful. If you're unsure of another person's gender identity, check out their profile in eDirectory or by sending them a PM
    6. NO CYBER-BULLYING OR DISCRIMINATION: Please do not post anything that is sexually-suggestive, racist, homophobic, transphobic, or portrays in a negative light age, disability, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other such protected class or attribute.
    7. UPLOADS POLICY: Please use the image gallery to upload your images, and please don't host any file using an external site. Please DO NOT upload any file that if executed on an end-user's machine would cause damage this includes but in no way is limited to viruses, worms, Trojan horse programs, keyloggers, or similar malicious software. Please also do not provide instructions that if executed by a user would cause same or similar damage.
    8. JUST BECAUSE WE CAN DOESN'T MEAN WE WILL: We as the owners, administrators, and moderators of this site have the ability to move, remove, disable access to, modify, or otherwise block access to any content we deem offensive or in violation of these guidelines. Just because we have this power doesn't mean we will use it in a timely manner if at all.
    9. NO MINI-MODDING: If you're not a member of staff, don't act like you are one. This doesn't fix problems or make bad actors go away, it just serves to make our job a lot harder. You can help the staff by hitting the report post icon found on the bottom of most content.
    10. CHANGE IS A PART OF LIFE: You'd better believe it... Change is a part of life. We can make amendments to these rules to keep the peace and address issues as they com up. By continuing to use this site after such change, you agree to be bound by the then-current versions of these rules.
